故事发生在十九世纪的南亚次大陆，丹尼（肖恩·康纳利 Sean Connery 饰）和比利（迈克尔·凯恩 Michael Caine 饰）在服完兵役后并没有急着返回祖国。他们发现了一个古老的王国卡菲尔斯坦，其中居住着的都是未开化的土著。丹尼和比利有信心利用他们的聪明才智和先进技术让这群野人们相信他们生来就是统治部落的国王。
